Jason Kroot (He/Him)
While he has been known as "Coach Kroot" for many years, he is not a part of the coaching team at SL (maybe someday). He oversees the back of the house business at SL as his primary job is the Co-Founder of Renaissance Selections, a Wine National Importer, Sales, and Marketing company. On the weekends, he takes time to make sure that treadmill morale remains high.
Growing up, the last thing he wanted to do was run. He was the goalie on the soccer team, catcher on the baseball field and skied in the winter. He ran the Maine Half Marathon in 2011 for charity and was hooked. He ran Boston that Spring and has run it every year since for the Dana Farber Marathon Challenge team. Jason continues to chase that elusive BQ…
Favorite Race: 2016 Savin Rock Half Marathon- 1:30:32 - Only time I feel I ever ran a "perfect race" and PRed by 12 minutes.
Least Favorite Race: 2016 Boston Marathon - I was convinced I was set to PR and had a shot to BQ but didn't adjust for the heat that day or give myself enough time to recover from the Savin Rock Half. I had run 7 marathons before but made multiple rookie mistakes! The photographers on course made sure to capture my misery.
Starting Line I have my eye on: Chicago Marathon.
